The Luck of the Irish hits the Corner- with traditional Celtic Music.
Classic tunes by mandolin, mandocello and guitars-
Jamie O’Brien has lived in the US for three decades. But he hasn’t
forgotten his London-Irish roots. Delving into his vast repertoire, he
sings the songs he heard growing up in South London, where his family worked in the famed Brixton market. He introduces American audiences to a mix of traditional and contemporary Irish songs, along with pieces from music hall (vaudeville) tradition, much of which has been rarely heard this side of the Atlantic.
Arriving in Pennsylvania in 1988, one of the first musicians he met and collaborated with was Harrisburg native, Henry Koretzky. Since then, the pair has performed throughout the Mid-Atlantic States, the South West and in Hawaii. Combining Jamie’s experiences in music along with Henry’s wideknowledge of Celtic and Americana, the two musicians present a fascinating
evening of song and laughter – their knowledge of the material is
introduced to audiences with humor and harmony.
